Kimmel Looks to Bring Ansell's Home Crowd to Victory Lane at Pocono

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 2, 2010)- While the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards rolls into Pocono Raceway for the 50th time, Kimmel looks to make a milestone of his own, bringing Ansell into Victory Lane in front of their home crowd. With the Ansell Headquarters only a short two-hour drive away, the stands will be packed with fans cheering Kimmel on to a fourth victory at the 2.5-mile track.

Pocono Raceway is not like any other track on the ARCA Racing Series schedule. Known as the "tricky triangle," Pocono Raceway has three distinct turns set to challenge drivers. Kimmel knows the secret to taming the triangular track, with three victories, three poles and 17 top-five finishes, he is no stranger to success at Pocono Raceway.

"I really like Pocono," stated Kimmel. "It's so different, and it's a change from your typical mile-and-a-half race track that we run so many times. Making the car handle well there is very important, as well as having a lot of power. We have Roush Yates motors with us, so we should have a lot power. I enjoy going back to Pocono every year. If we have a good handling car, good track position and good pit stops, we should be set for an exciting race."

On-track activities for the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 are set to begin Friday with practice and qualifying. Saturday will be a full day of racing action at Pocono Raceway with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice Saturday afternoon and the green flag set to drop for the stars of the ARCA Racing Series at 1:00 p.m. EST. ARCARacing.com will have live audio and timing and scoring coverage with SPEED carrying the race broadcast at 4:00 p.m. EST.

Frank Kimmel and the No. 44 Ansell/Menards Fast Facts
Pocono History: Kimmel is the active wins leader in the ARCA Racing Series at Pocono Raceway. After capturing his first victory at the 2.5-mile track in 1999, Kimmel went on to record two more victories in 2005 and 2006. In addition, Kimmel has earned three poles, 17 top-five finishes and 23 top-10 finishes at the "Tricky Triangle."

Kimmel visits Ansell: On Thursday morning, June 3, Kimmel will be making a trip to Red Bank, N.J. to visit the headquarters of his sponsor, Ansell Gloves.

In The Points: Kimmel's fourth-place finish at Toledo vaulted the No. 44 Ansell/Menards team up three positions in the championship standings to sixth-place. Kimmel is only 155 markers behind series leader Patrick Sheltra.

Autographs: On Saturday, June 5, Kimmel will be signing autographs with other ARCA Racing Series drivers from 9:30-10:30 a.m. EST. The autograph session will be held at Pocono Raceway in conjunction with "Pocono Kids Day."

Did You Know?: Kimmel Racing has one very special team member, Champ, a Hemingway cat with six toes. The team was fighting a mouse problem, so Frank suggested they get a cat. Office Manager Brian's cat had just given birth to kittens, so he brought young Champ to the shop. A contest was held on frankkimmel.com to name the cat, thus the name Champ was born. He is now almost 7 years of age and weighs in at a stout 18 lbs. The guys at the shop had to teach Champ to catch mice, but now he does an excellent job of keeping the mice population in check along with wayward birds, moles and anything he can get his paws on. He generally is a pretty good cat with a personality that fits right in with the team - half nice, half naughty!

Chasing the Record Books: If you look at the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards record books, there are not many lists that do not include Frank Kimmel. This season, Kimmel looks to break his own record of nine championships and win a record-setting 10th ARCA Racing Series Championship. His sights are also set on breaking the all-time ARCA win record. With 74 career ARCA victories, Frank is six wins shy of breaking the record held by Iggy Katona.
