Christian PaHud Returns to Victory Lane at Tri-County Motor Speedway

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 11, 2010) - Development Driver Christian PaHud returned to Victory Lane at Tri-County Motor Speedway on Friday, May 7. This marked PaHud's third trip to Victory Lane in only five limited late model races this season.

PaHud had a solid practice session and qualified second in Friday night's race. PaHud passed the No. 51 car for the lead on the first lap and never looked back. Although the beginning of the race was caution-filled, PaHud was able to maintain his first place position.

"I got the lead on the first lap, on the outside," PaHud said. "The caution came out after we had passed the start-finish line, so I restarted in the first position."

In the middle of the race, PaHud felt the No. 51 gaining ground by using the high-line on the racetrack, during a long green-flag period. PaHud was able to maintain his lead when he moved to the outside lane and was able to stall the momentum of the cars behind him.

"In the beginning, the No. 51 was on my bumper, and we were running really hard," PaHud explained. "I was faster in the beginning of the race, but he was a little faster on the top than we were during the middle of the race. I moved up to see what would happen, and I was able to run up there too. We took his line away from him, which worked pretty well."

The final caution flag waived with five laps remaining in the event. Although PaHud faced strong competition during the long green-flag period, his car was better on the short runs. PaHud had a good restart and was able to pull away from the rest of the field. He went on to win the race by more than a car-length.

The young-driver, who led every lap of the race, was glad to return to Victory Lane at the Hudson, N.C., track. "During the long green-flag run, the No. 51 started to run us down a little bit," PaHud said. "So I guess we kind of got lucky that the caution flag came out. We had a great car tonight, and I'm very thankful to the crew and my family for supporting me."

PaHud is currently tied with Waylon Flynn for the lead in the point standings at Tri-County Motor Speedway and will return to the track this Friday, May 14.
