Tim George Jr. Claims First Oval Track Victory
Finishes 13th at the "Daytona of Dirt"

Mooresville, N.C. (May 10, 2010)-Tim George Jr., a Richard Childress Racing (RCR) Development driver, had a busy weekend racing on North Carolina short tracks. Coming off a career-best ARCA Racing Series finish at Talladega Superspeedway, George's momentum on the track brought him success this weekend.

George took home the victory Friday night at the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series for Late Models Division feature race at Tri-County (N.C.) Motor Speedway in Hudson.

"These late model races are short and intense," said George. "Team Dillon Racing did a great job putting this brand new No. 31 car together so quickly. The guys were in the shop until midnight moving the seat, after our shake down test on Thursday. Gere Kennon came to crew chief, and Dillon was spotting."

Mike Dillon was on-hand for the race, providing his veteran spotting skills to George.

Running a limited schedule of pavement Late Models as part of the RCR driver development program, George drove the No. 31 Chevrolet Impala prepared by Team Dillon to his first oval track victory in the 50-lap feature race.

"I am excited I won my first stock car race," added George. "Bringing home the win for Team Dillon has boosted my confidence even more, and I can't thank Mike Dillon enough for giving me this opportunity and my guys for all their hard work!"

Although George battled the car for most of the race, the win was well worth the effort.

"The car was not handling very well," explained George. "I asked my spotter, Mike Dillon, if there was anything I could do. He told me to back up from the field, turn the wheel to the left a little and mash the gas during a caution. This got my right rear hot and helped it turn in the center. That is exactly what I needed to pass those cars in front of me in those last few laps."

George returned to the "Daytona of Dirt," 311 Speedway, in Pine Hill for his second career start on dirt in the National Dirt Racing Association (NDRA) Crate Late Model Division race Saturday. NDRA split the field of 32 cars into the A Main Feature and B Main.

George drove the No. 2 Mom & Pop's Chevrolet prepared by Team Dillon Racing under the direction of Shane McDowell and was the last car to qualify. He earned a place in the A Main Feature race with the 13th best time. An early lap incident forced George to restart at the back of the field, but he made his way back to 13th at the end of the 20 Lap NDRA feature.

"The race was wild," George stated. "Running dirt is something very new for me, but I really enjoy it. I think it has helped my car control. Shane and Austin Dillon have helped out a ton with my learning curve. Running on the lead lap at 311 has my hopes up for a win on dirt with Team Dillon Racing soon."

Only 185 points behind the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards points leader, George will resume his championship battle in the No. 31 RCR Development Chevrolet in the Menards 200 at Toledo Speedway on May 23.

In 2010, the team's freshman year, HBR is fielding the No. 98H for driver Jimmy Phelps in the Super DIRTcar Series, with sponsorship from Wave Energy Drink. They will also be fielding the No. 98 for driver Erick Rudolph in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, with additional sponsorship from Pizza Logs, Brigham Concrete and PrimeTyme Motorsports.
