Matt McCall Ready for Action at Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown
Joins elite group of drivers invited to compete at Southside Speedway

Matt McCallMOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 22, 2010) - Matt McCall was invited to join an elite group of drivers to compete in the Denny Hamlin Short Track Shootout on Thursday, April 29 at Southside Speedway. The 2010-running of the race will be the third year of the event, which features several of NASCAR's best along with some of the region's top Late Model Stock Car drivers.

Thursday's race will be McCall's first time running the prestigious event. "I am honored to be invited to run this event," said McCall. "It is a thrilling experience to run against some of the top drivers in the sport. I want to thank Riderwholesales.com, Denver Marine and Ranger Boats for providing me with support to run in this race. I know that there will be really competitive racing and am really excited to be a part of this great event."

Proceeds from the third-annual Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown will go toward raising funds for the awareness of Cystic Fibrosis research and treatment and as well as other programs that support chronically ill children and underprivileged youth. Fans can purchase tickets at www.dennyhamlinfoundation.org. The Showdown is Thursday, April 29 at Southside Speedway in Midlothian, V.A., with gates opening at 4:00 p.m. EST, and racing action will begin at 7:00 p.m. EST.

About Matt McCall:

Matt McCall made history in 2009 when he became the first repeat champion in the long history of the UARA series, winning in both 2005 and 2009. McCall was a final-four participant in the "Roush Racing Gong Show" on Discovery Channel in 2005, which led him to become a part of the Robert Yates Racing driver development program. McCall made two starts in the ARCA series along with five NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) starts. In 2007 McCall was named NNS setup driver for Carl Edwards. In addition, McCall boasts a very successful short track career. McCall has won races, championships and pole awards at short tracks along the east coast, including the renowned Bristol Motor Speedway and local track Hickory Motor Speedway.
