Colin Braun Hits 8,000 Followers on Twitter

MOORESVILLE, North Carolina (March 26, 2010) - Colin Braun crossed the 8,000 follower-mark on Twitter.com this week. Braun, driver of the No. 16 Con-way Freight Roush Fenway Ford in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, began tweeting in May 2009.

"I am thrilled to have more than 8,000 people following me on Twitter now," said Braun. "I have really enjoyed my experience on Twitter thus far."

According to the SBNation.com NASCAR Twitter Rankings, Braun is No. 20 amongst the top-35 NASCAR-related Tweeters.

Jeff Gluck, writer for SBNation.com, compiles the number of followers on Twitter of NASCAR divers, crew members and owners. This month he also began including wives, girlfriends and family members on the list. Excluded from the ranking include drivers who do not tweet themselves, NASCAR public relations representatives and media.

Juan Pablo Montoya tops the list of NASCAR drivers with more than 135,500 followers. Danica Patrick is a close second with close to 123,500. Braun is the highest among all full-time drivers competing for the Raybestos Rookie of The Year Award in any NASCAR series.

"Social media is such a great way to get fans closer to what I'm doing," Braun stated. "I love being at autograph sessions or around the track, and I meet fans who say that they are following me on Twitter."
