Menards To Sponsor May Toledo ARCA Race - NASCAR Driver David Ragan To Sign Autographs

TOLEDO, OH (3-2-10) - Officials from the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and Menards, Inc. announced today that the Wisconsin-based home improvement retailer would again sponsor the spring ARCA Racing Series event at Toledo Speedway in 2010. The announcement came as part of the annual Toledo Speedway Pre-Season Press Conference held at the new and improved Speedway Bar and Grille on the racetrack property.

The Menards 200 will also highlight the 6th Annual ARCA FanFest Weekend at Toledo Speedway, a three day racing spectacular which will also include the Buckeye Sprint Car Series on Friday night, May 21, and the ARCA Truck Series on Saturday, May 22. A fan interactive "festival" will be held in and around the speedway property all three days.

Fans will have the chance to "Save Big Money at Menards," as Toledo Area Menards locations will offer advance sale tickets at a 40% discount off the regular ticket price.

"Menards has quickly become a very important strategic marketing partner, not only for Toledo Speedway, but for the entire ARCA Racing Series," commented ARCA VP of Marketing and Communications Mark Gundrum. "Their involvement with the tour, as a series presenting sponsor, a co-primary team sponsor and an event sponsor, positions them as one of ARCA's most important marketing partners."

The Menards 200 will feature drivers of the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards, racing for 200 laps on the challenging Toledo Speedway ½ mile paved oval. The race has gained a reputation with fans as among the most entertaining on the circuit, complete with ample bumping and banging.

In addition to the race sponsorship announcement, series and track officials also announced that NASCAR driver David Ragan has committed to be on hand Sunday, May 23, to participate in the on-track driver autograph session during Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care pre-race activities. Ragan, driver of the #6 UPS Ford fielded by Roush Fenway Racing on NASCAR's Sprint Cup Circuit, ran the full 2005 ARCA Racing Series schedule, and was a race winner at Lanier National Speedway that year.

ARCA Racing Series practice for the Menards 200 is scheduled for Saturday, May 22 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell to follow at 3:30 p.m. The start of the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care will get the green flag shortly after 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23.
